The medieval town of Lagrasse was once the cultural capital of the Corbières. Famous for its Benedictine abbey founded by Charlemagne, the largest in the Aude, and its village classified as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France, it is full of delights for visitors. Not to be missed: the abbey, of course, but also the old ramparts, the old bridge under which it is good to have a picnic, the market hall built in 1315 when the Lagrasse market was transferred (which was previously located outside the village) and the main street of the village with its restaurants and shops selling local products: wine, olive oil, artisanal vinegar, etc.
