These two neighbouring villages are spread out along the lagoon opposite Capitoul, offering walkers a very inspiring itinerary for picnics. What the people of Narbonne call the "route de Bages" is worth the diversions alone. The superb coastline should not overshadow the villages, both of which are delightful. Bages in particular is a haven for artists. Don't hesitate to stop in the village square for a drink at the aptly named Café Les Beaux-Arts, or to take a look at the nearby art galleries. Finally, remember that these villages are home to many wine estates - Château de l'Ile, Tart Avizat, etc. - whose owners will be happy to welcome you for a tasting !
